Robert Snowdale is the esteemed Distribution Solutions, Inc. (DSi) owner based in Plymouth, MA. He is also the founder, owner, and CEO of DSI Freightways, LLC, established in 1991. His expertise in freight forwarding, less-than-truckload (LTL), truckload, and freight pricing has significantly contributed to his professional success.

A Northeastern University graduate, he has played pivotal roles in the transportation and logistics industry, enhancing operational strategies for leading roadway transportation companies. Notably, he acquired the majority interests in DSI Freightways during his impactful tenure as COO in 1990.

DSi today is at the forefront of providing innovative management services to manufacturers and service industries eager to collaborate with commercial freight shippers and utilize interim warehousing solutions. His leadership was crucial in adopting the state-of-the-art Transportation Spend Management (TSM) program, acclaimed for delivering substantial savings and enhancing the competitiveness of SMBs in the global market.

Raised in Cohasset, MA, Snowdale was industrious from age 13, working various jobs. His logistics career began in 1974 as a Sales Representative for Springmeier Shipping Company, and due to his remarkable performance, he quickly advanced to New England Regional Sales Manager.

In 1978, he joined Pacific Intermountain Express (P.I.E.) as a Sales Representative, where he significantly leveraged his skills in inbound sales to boost the company's outbound shipments. The deregulation of the motor carrier industry in 1980 opened further opportunities, leading him to become a licensed freight broker in 1982 under the name Balanced Transport Systems.

He left Parker’s Express to exploit his extensive network and insights, founding Balanced Transport Services (BTS), which catered to the logistics needs of New England-based SMBs. His approach to pricing and prioritizing space utilization differed from the complex LTL systems employed by national carriers.

In 1991, he established DSi, expanding his influence in freight management consulting. DSi now manages and executes direct freight brokerage and logistics operations, specializing in rate negotiations and carrier services procurement. His efforts have solidified the company’s role in managing logistics contracts worth over three hundred million dollars.

On a personal note, Snowdale cherishes family life. He is married with one child and actively participates in community services. His philanthropic engagements and hobbies, such as golfing, boating, and cooking, complement his professional life. He and his family enjoy their time at their vacation home in Ocean Ridge, FL, during winter while maintaining their primary residence in Pocasset, MA, on Cape Cod.
